Info: Ok boys (and girls), here’s a nice piece out of my archives. I have allways been a Telecaster lover, and went through several in the 70′s. I usually changed out the bridge pickup to keep the squeal down and get more balls at high volumes. Being perfectionists when it came to intonation, lots of players went to bridges with individual string saddles for precise adjustment on their Teles. I did more than one for other folks, so I can’t tie this bridge/pickup it to a particular guitar. My best guess is that it is probably a mid-70′s unit. I removed the saddles to get a clean shot at the serial numbers, so that may date it for you. Plugged in an amp, attached the pickup wires to the input plug of the cord and tapped the pole pieces with a screwdriver. The resulting “thump” tells me she’s live, and the magnet is WAY strong! The saddles ARE NOT BRASS like some I have seen on E-Bay. They are stock, just as the rest of the unit. It is missing one pickup mounting screw/spring assembly in front of the pickup as shown in the photo. Very nice piece guaranteed. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AT BUYER’S EXPENSE! FREE SHIPPING LOWER 48 ONLY!On Mar-02-09 at 15:09:25 PST, seller added the following information:At the risk of shooting myself in the proverbial foot, but in the interest of TOTAL honesty I would like to add the following. Some folks are inquiring about a date code. The pickup doesn’t have one I can find, just a blank piece of tape. What does this mean? I am not sure, but it is POSSIBLE that the pickup was replaced before I got it, but if it was, it would have to have been in the 70′s, and still an antique. That said, I believe it to be the original bridge/pickup I took from a Tele I was “hot rodding”. I guess I need to learn to do more thorough research before posting. I really didn’t expect my old “junk” to get so much attention. Anyway, I am not a BUYER BEWARE seller. If you buy this unit, and need to return it, I WILL PAY THE SHIPPING BACK! In passing, I friend of mine who likes the old Fenders says the slotted bridge saddles are not common and COULD be from 69. I am investigating that. Just needed to clear the air, I have a number of prime items waiting in the wings, and need satisfied customer feedback!!! … Click For More Info
